Blues assistant manager Martyn Pert was pleased Town maintained their usual high standards as they beat Arsenal’s U21s 2-0 at Portman Road in the Papa Johns Trophy in front of a very different atmosphere to the one away against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
Omari Hutchinson’s first goal for the Blues on his full league debut saw Town to a 1-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s and back up to second in the Championship. On-loan Chelsea man Hutchinson struck on the half hour as the Blues maintained their brilliant start to the season.
Town manager Kieran McKenna will name the usual much-changed side for this evening’s second Papa Johns Trophy tie of the season at home to Arsenal’s U21s.
