Italy-Canada relations go back a long way and see in the large and active Italian-Canadian community the best expression of the feelings of friendship that bind the two countries. Over the past 75 years, Canada and Italy have followed parallel paths in every sector of civil, political and economic life.
With the entry into force of CETA, trade exchanges, which were already strong, have registered a constant growth in all sectors (the agri-food sector, for example, has registered an average annual growth of 7% in the last ten years, making our country the fourth supplier of Canada at a global level and the first among EU countries), as well as shared political choices in the international field.
Taiwan imports Italian apples for the first time
Recently, the Italian Trade Agency s Taipei Office (ITA) announced good news for the export of Italian apples to Taiwan. This is not only the first time that Italian apples have gained access to Taiwan and brought important progress to the economic and trade exchanges of the two parties, but it also provides consumers in Taiwan with new choices.
Paolo Quattrocchi, Director of ITA, said: This is a great achievement for Italy and a good start for the new year. In the past years, we have been working very hard to bring our high-quality products to Taiwan. We are confident in the quality of these apples and hope that Taiwanese consumers will like them. I look forward to the next few months when more volumes will be coming in. The first volume of 20 tons has been distributed and can now be purchased in the markets.
