The accused used to take money from the COVID-19 patients, however, after taking money, they used to inform that they were caught by the police and both money and injection seized. A case of cheating against them was registered on Tuesday after they cheated a buyer whose family member was admitted in Pune and required four doses of Remdesivir. The arrested persons were identified as Sourabh Bonkar, 25, a resident of Mangaon in Raigad, Aniket Tandel, 24, a resident of Sukarpur in Panvel and Akash Mhatre, 42, a resident of Mangoan in Raigad. Police said that they are friends.

In one week, eight arrested for selling Remdesivir injections in black market Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA The Navi Mumbai Police have in a span of one week arrested eight people for allegedly selling Remdesivir injections in black market and cheating people on the pretext of selling the vials. On Monday, the Panvel City police arrested three men for allegedly cheating a Pune resident of ₹88,000 by promising four vials. One of the accused, Akash Mhatre, had given the contact number of his accomplice identified as Saurabh Vonkar to the complainant who was in search of the injection. The complainant contacted Mr. Vonkar who told him that he had four vials and would sell them for ₹88,000 which the former would have to hand over to his friend Aniket Tandel. The complainant gave the money to Mr. Tandel near Panvel railway station.
