The award-winning chefs of Water Street in downtown Naperville are back to present the fourth annual Long Table Dinner on Water Street outdoors under the stars.
The Skeleton Key Brewery team is hosting volunteer days at the West Suburban Community Pantry to help with restocking, sorting, and packing food. The brewery also is partnering with Copper Fox Farm and The GardenWorks Project to teach people how to grow healthy vegetables from heirloom seeds to help stock the Pantry through the summer months.
There may have been only one winner of the annual Chefs Culinary Challenge Fundraiser presented benefitting West Suburban Community Pantry on Sunday, Feb. 5 at the Chicago Marriott Naperville, but all the chefs contributing to the seven-course meal put plenty of skill and heart on their plates.
Jeri Smolek, special education teacher and program coordinator for the Transition 99 program, says when her students work at the West Suburban Community Pantry, they re thinking about people other than themselves while they affirm their own capabilities.
