So when I got a sneak peek at the the new trail opening in San Antonio s Far Eastside, I couldn t help but think about the woman who helped shaped my life but sadly passed too soon of cancer in 2009. The Schaefer Branch Library Trail is short but beautiful as bushes filled with sunflowers surround the 830-foot-long walk right outside the library at 6322 U.S. Highway 87 E, near Rigsby Avenue. Yes, it s a bit of a drive. However, it s worth the walk if ever in the area, especially for those in the community – which is what the city intended, Jake Odland, the spokesperson for San Antonio Public Library, tells MySA.com.
