On the eve of the new single release of The Juans, an acoustic version of their latest fan-favorite song “Pangalawang Bitaw (Acoustic),” lead singer and keyboardist Carl Guevara shared his thoughts with Bulletin Entertainment about the aforementioned song; why do an acoustic version of it, and what the song means, and their thoughts about their first time at the Billboard charts.
Doing acoustic versions of previously released singles are customary for The Juans. Recall that their 2018 single “Hindi Tayo Pwede” had been turned to its bare essentials too before becoming a big hit in late 2019 that seeped well unto 2020. One could say that going “acoustic” is a lucky charm for The Juans.
The group marked a career milestone making it to the US Billboard charts Monday.
On its Twitter account, P-pop Billboard (@ppopbillboard) announced:
“@TheJuans band debuts at No. 9 on this week’s #NextBigSound chart.”
The Next Big Sound chart on Billboard tracks popular bands and artists on social media and streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music and the like and gives focus on remarkable acts on regions other than the US.
The Juans, which includes singers Carl Guevara, Japs Mendoza on keyboard and lead guitar, Chael Adriano on Bass, acoustic guitarist RJ Cruz and drummer Joshua Coronel, is only the third Filipino act to have made it on said chart.

At an age where entertainment comes from various multimedia outlets, ASAP Natin ‘To held its ground to be one, if not the best, longest-running Sunday noon time program in the country, but the “new kid in town” Sunday Noon Time Live (SNL) proved to be a worthy contender.
But today’s episode of both ASAP and SNL paved the way for two of the country’s rising boy groups: The Juans and the Pinoy Pop phenom SB19.
Still, as the time changes, there are talented celebrities who are proving everyone that they are timeless. Philippine entertainment icons such as Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Martin Nievera, Gary V, Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo, Moira De la Torre, Darren Espanto, Kim Chiu and more from ASAP Natin ‘to proved to be high-calibre performers, leaving their viewers with some jaw-dropping performances.
