Exhibitions of being a professional in her line of business and if shes not confirmed it would be a shame to the congress and it would be a shame to america. This is a very sharp, intelligent woman who is very professional who answered all their questions. And came across as an excellent, excellent candidate for attorney general. And if she is not confirmed, everybody in the senate ought to just resign their positions is what should happen. On to alexander in pennsylvania on our republican line. This is barry of the just make sure folks, you turn down your television or radio when you call in. Barry, go ahead. I think one of the Top Priorities for any attorney general should be able to distinguish and define the word illegal and making a statement that illegal aliens have as much right to work as citizens i think crosses the line of not being able to distinguish or to determine the definition of the word illegal. Ive watched unfortunately not all of this questioning. But i think thats
Senators about this and i think it is time for us to step up as congress and do something truly bipartisan that the people will applaud. We are going to increase by 5 and were going to do it on a bipartisan basis. I would say for the record if there is going to be some conversation about money going to the pentagon i want to i want to be part of that conversation and i want to stick to the rules that its shared equally. We make sure that there is money coming back into the nondefense side of the equation. I hope the administration will take the same position. If we can find oco money lets not do that at the expense of nondefense. I hope we can come to a conclusion that we are going to make our mark in bipartisanship when it comes to biomedical research. Id like to hear any comments youd like to make. We to believe in terms of the number in investments in the choices we need to make in getting the nation to function right now but also preparing for the future right now. Thats why we mak
Condolences to the families of would two hostages one american dr. Warren weinstein and an italian, giovanni lo porto, who were tragically killed in a u. S. Counterterrorism operation. Warren and giovanni were aid workers in pakistan, devoted to improving the lives of the pakistani people. After warren was abducted by al qaeda in 2011. I directed my National Security team to do Everything Possible to find him and to bring him home safely to his family. And dedicated professionals across our government worked tirelessly to do so. We also worked closely with our italian allies on behalf of giovanni who was kidnapped in 2012. Since 9 11 our course terrorism efforts have prevent terrorist attacks and saved innocent lives, both here in america and around the world. And that determination to protect innocent life only makes the loss of these two men especially painful for all of us. Based on information and intelligence we have obtained we believe that a u. S. Counterterrorism operation targ

We were so lucky because her parents took us on travels to africa so we got to see pat farr and being in clinics and schools and meeting people whose lives would be forever changed. I would say her work for women but more broadly pepfar and my dad too. Im very proud of him for that. Eight think definitely and this was brought up by anita but after 9 11 im going to cry. I know, in front of a lot of people. I think the work that she did after 9 11 and how comforting she was too everyone in the country was an incredible legacy and really critical to the country healing after 9 11. [applause] see if i were doing a series on first ladies i would be probing this question. Could the first lady handle the pressure . If the answer is no, then the life of the president is going to be p
