HUBBALLI: With the intention to provide timely treatment to non-Covid patients of Hubballi city, the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) has planned to dedicate two hospitals with 25 beds each, exclusively for non-Covid patients in Old Hubballi and SM Krishna Nagar.
For the first time in the state, since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, civic authorities are attempting to dedicate hospitals for non-Covid patients. As all government hospitals and most of the private hospitals have been converted into Covid hospitals, many non-Covid patients are reluctant to visit them, as they fear that they will get infected by the novel coronavirus.
HDMC is now preparing an action plan to set up two hospitals in Hubballi, on a trial basis, for non-Covid cases. The health officials have been asked to submit requirements such as staff, doctors, beds and others, for the hospitals. HUBBALLI: Workers of political parties aspiring to contest the forthcoming HDMC election are gearing up with various pro-people programmes to get closer to voters, well in advance.
They are helping people get digital voter ID card, Ayushman health cards, ration cards, old age pension, widow pension, updation of Aadhaar and other various government facilities and are also paying the fees themselves.
MLA Arvind Bellad, who is also the BJP Hubballi-Dharwad Mahanagar Jilla president, said there is a need for someone to help people get government benefits and make them aware about government schemes. “It s obvious that party workers will get a chance to meet and interact with the public,” he added.
