Srinivas Prasad criticises religious leaders over campaigns for reservation

AAA Veteran Dalit leader and former Minister V. Srinivas Prasad on Tuesday found fault with the heads of mutts for taking to streets as part of campaigns seeking reservation for different castes.
Mr. Prasad said the seers, who dealt with religious issues, did not have complete knowledge about the Constitution and Parliament. The seers should not talk about reservation and political issues as they did not concern them, said Mr. Prasad, BJP MP representing Chamarajanagar.
He said the seers should not take to the streets over the issue and said he expected the government to warn them.

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 22 (ANI): Launching a sharp attack against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Basannagouda Patil Yatnal for targetting Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, state Mines and Geology Minister Murugesh R Nirani on Monday called him the B-team of Congress , and challenged him to resign and then get re-elected.
The Minister condemned Yatnal for disrespecting the Chief Minister and attacking his own party leaders. Yatnal is repeatedly attacking his own party leaders than the opposition leaders. I condemn him for disrespecting a senior leader such as the Chief Minister. The party higher-ups will take a decision on his conduct, he said in a joint presser with State Mall Scale Industries Minister CC Patil and scores of party legislators here at Vidhana Soudha.
The two ministers who had even shared the stage at Sunday s Panchamasali convention and had made speeches, said they supported the campaign with a hope that it will persuade the government to address the community s demand. The intention, they said, was never to continue the protest for a long time. What transpired following the convention was not acceptable, ministers said.
“The state government has referred the matter to the backward classes commission. The chief minister will also soon form a committee headed by a High Court judge (retired) to study recommendations of various committees on reservation related issues. Protesters should wait,” small scale industries minister CC Patil said.
