Used smartphone sales increased by 20% every year in Europe between 2016 and 2020. Retail giant Currys recently added second-hand products to their website for the first time in February. The next UN report on global e-waste generation may indicate that e-waste's growth is being stemmed by the second-hand electronics and electrical device market. Even though many people are not buying second-hand electronics for environmental reasons, purchasing used devices is still better for the environment, and data shows that more people are becoming aware of this fact.
