Jack R. Engdahl
Jack R. Engdahl, 80, of Ashmar Lane, Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 4:11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident, he was born May 30, 1940, in Jamestown, N.Y,, a son of the late Robert O. and Genevieve Parker Engdahl.
Jack was a 1958 graduate of Mayville Central School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education from Brockport State University in 1962 and his Master of Science in education from Fredonia State in 1968. He furthered his education by receiving his school administrator and supervisor certificate in 1979 and his school district administrator certification in 1980 from Fredonia State University.
Sharon A. Passarelli
Sharon A. Passarelli, 75, of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away at 9:17 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2021, in her home.
An area resident for most of her life, she was born Nov. 15, 1945, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late David J. and Violet Farrar Sturges.
Sharon was a 1963 graduate of Panama Central School and earned her registered nurse’s degree from the St. Lawrence State Hospital School of Nursing in Ogdensburg, N.Y.
Before her retirement in 2013, she was a registered nurse at WCA Hospital working in the Occupational Health Department. In earlier years she had worked as a nurse manager at the St. Lawrence Medical Clinic in Morrisburg, Ontario and briefly at the Winchester Hospital.

Michelle Johnson-Anderson never intended to become a nurse. It was a guidance counselor at Panama Central School who pointed her in that direction.
That advice ultimately set into motion what ended up being a 40-year career in the field, with the last half as the longest-serving instructor for the licensed practical nursing program at Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES. During that time she has helped guide aspiring nurses into countless careers in hospitals, assisted living facilities, nursing homes and management.
