Events in Stevens Point: What events will return to area this summer

STEVENS POINT - After a year of event cancellations and virtual programs, calendars are once again filling up with things to do this summer in the Stevens Point area. While the area’s traditional summertime events are once again popping up on event listings, some might not have the same pre-pandemic atmosphere. Event organizers will likely announce additional precautions to keep guests safe as event dates approach. Levitt AMP is back The Levitt AMP Music Series will return to the bandshell at Pfiffner Pioneer Park in Stevens Point every Thursday, from June 3 through Aug. 5. While the opening acts have yet to be announced, guests can see Mike Mains & the Branches, Concrete Roots, LA Buckner, Ley Line, HHG, Gangstagrass, Roxi Copland, John Roberts y Pan Blanco, Angela Perley & the Howlin’ Moons, Long Shot & Lazerbeak and Shamarr Allen.

On Friday, the Columbus Community Foundation held a party at the Stillwater Pavilion. The Columbus Day of Giving has been around for six years, and this was the first year for a big party. You have the salsa band that s here, John Roberts y Pan Blanco, said Marissa Hauge, the foundation s president. I know we they have quite a following. What s awesome is our treasurer on the board actually went to school in Malta, knows these guys and we got them here to play for us tonight.

Lewis & Clark Tap Room brings back live music and plans expanded venue

Music is roaring back at the Lewis & Clark Tap Room, starting in April. Not only are some of your favorite music acts back on stage, but so are some local music festivals — plus a new one — Wake the Giant Music Revival. And, there’s more good news for ‘live music’ lovers. The Tap Room will be expanding its indoor venue area, growing from 250-occupancy to about 500, said Lewis & Clark Brewing Company owner Max Pigman. The remodel will add a larger stage area, a larger audience area with better visibility and an upgraded sound system. Stay tuned for more Tap Room renovation news coming later this month.

One of the first industries to be shut down a year ago was live music. But since Governor Greg Gianforte lifted capacity and curfew restrictions on bars and restuarants, Billings concert scene is back with a vengeance. Over 10 different venues featured live acts over the weekend in Yellowstone County. Q2 stopped in at Wild Ginger downtown which is working music back in gradually on Saturday evenings now. We kicked off the music scene with Pan Blanco which is Jon Roberts and his crew for Chinese New Year February 12th and 13th. Brick-house Band, Frequency, 852, Bob Bowman comes from Yellowstone Park. We ve had bands from Bozeman, so we re really picking it back up, Wild Ginger Japanese Steakhouse Manager Mikal Young said.
