View Comments On a nationwide day of prayer, over 200 people – of all ages and backgrounds –  gathered to worship together in front of the Historic Capitol just as others did across the country.  Florida Prayer Network President Pamela Olsen has led a National Day of Prayer service at the Florida Capitol for the last 27 years, but in America, it dates back as far as 70 consecutive years.  It s about the same as always, Olsen said of this year s turnout. With people coming to stand at their state Capitol, to have the freedom to worship as they feel led and to pray. The service included a musical performance by a local worship group and speeches from WFLA s Preston Scott, Rep. Jason Shoaf, TPD Chaplin Kelly Burke and Florida Department of Corrections Secretary of Corrections Mark Inch.
