Pamela Gilmore, a disabled and unemployed woman, watches her boyfriend come home every day, frustrated with a job that has less demand due to the pandemic, believing that if he had assistance he would be in a better place.
As a carpenter, Gilmore s boyfriend is being paid less because people do not want work done in their homes due to COVID. With bills including a $600 mortgage, $60 for water and $200 for other utilities Gilmore wants to know what Randolph County is doing for its residents. I wish I knew where the money was going because I ve seen funds for PPE, businesses and construction work for the county, but people are still struggling, Gilmore said.
