A hugely popular children s attraction was dealt a cruel blow when a last-minute change in coronavirus regulations has delayed its reopening by several more weeks.
Only two days before it was due to reopen on April 12, Ghettopark on Garibaldi Street in Grimsby received clarification it had been dreading that confirmed it would not be able to open as planned.
Company director Pam Wilson discovered if they were to reopen, they were only permitted 15 users at a time - making the attraction unviable.

When Lacey Thompson heard about the U.S. Air Force’s new grooming regulations, she felt relieved.
No longer will she have to tightly wrap her braids to fit under her flight helmet. Under new policies, she can wear her two braids down as long as they don’t extend beyond a certain point. Previously, women in the Air Force were required to secure their hair so it did not reach past their collar.
The 20-year-old-model-turned-active-duty-aircraft-loadmaster says she has been experiencing hair loss at her hairline and at the base of her neck after two years of having to meet the standards.
Dear Editor,
As an unfortunate result of term limits, Dec. 31, 2020, marked the completion of the tenure of Bellaire native, Ohio state Rep. Jack Cera, serving the 96th Ohio House District, which includes Jefferson, Monroe and parts of Belmont counties, a most impressive legislative career appears to be coming to a close.
Representative Cera was appointed to his current tenure in office to replace Lou Gentile, who was earlier appointed to the Ohio Senate seat, which had been vacated by Jason Wilson, on Dec. 14, 2011.
Previously, Rep. Cera had very capably served the area in the Ohio House of Representatives from 1983 until 1996, and in between his tenures in Columbus, he notably served in the positions of Director of Belmont County’s Workforce Development Program, and as the Executive Director of the Jefferson-Belmont Solid Waste Authority, respectively.

Langlade County Sheriff Bill Greening said this morning he was impressed with the lack of major problems over the weekend, as Antigo and Langlade County seemed to have fared pretty well in what is being called the âstorm of the decade.â Snow and winds roared into the area Saturday and left anywhere from 16 to 22 inches of snow. The actual amount was difficult to judge due to brisk winds which piled it into drifts.
A picture of the collapsed Metrodome roof is shown on todayâs front page. Holes can be seen in the inflatable structure which collapsed Sunday after the same snowstorm that would hit Antigo, dumped 17 inches of snow on Minneapolis. The NFL has moved the Vikings game slated for Sunday to tonight in Detroit.
