That water leaves the filtration plant, specially treated to prevent any lead were going along with it. Depending on the house or business, you may be able to do something else. There are three types of water lines. First, the main. It takes the water from the filtration plant into your neighborhood. Then theres the service line that goes from the main, to the property. And then theres your line that your house. The big names in the service lanes are not built of lead. But if your house is built before 1927, the first part of the house may be that could be easy to spot. There could be galvanized steel, copper or lead pipes. Copper pipes, there will be a copper color. If its painted, could take the coin and scrape the paint off.
