Tonight that the blame is falling on the shoulders of many contractors the controversy of the rusting bolts in the single anchor suspension section of the bay bridge has finally played outas far as who is to blame and how much it will cost. The fines are in the millions of dollars and project leaders say they will be able to finally close the books on the construction project. Leah robinson it was determined that three parties were equally involved in the failure of the tower anchor rods. Those parties are the contractor, american bridge four, t. Y. Lynn moffit nickal, as well as cal trans. That will round out that 24 Million Dollars. Jeff an expensive mistake for sureall three parties will be equally responsible for their share. it came to a total of 24 million and each of the parties is going to provide eight Million Dollars so the way that will be broken out is that cal trans will get a credit from american bridge four, the contractor. It happened on aurora bridge at 11 00 a. M. This morning. It is the major bridge to get in and out of seattle. Four lanes across, two in each direction with no barrier. A man who saw the scene described it as terrifying. It happened so fast. I didnt get a chance to see i got out of my car and there were bodies everywhere.
