Students at four high schools in Palm Beach County are starting the new year Thursday with something they hadn't done before: walking through a metal detector.
"The pilot’s off to a good start," Superintendent Mike Burke told WPBF 25 News about their program placing metal detectors in four high schools across Palm Beach County.
A student from Palm Beach Lakes High School was arrested and faces expulsion after school officials said a tip from another student revealed they had a loaded gun on campus.
