WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. â The Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization hosted their final food distribution event of the year Wednesday.
More than 40 volunteers in West Palm Beach loaded trucks and cars with fresh groceries, distributing more than 90,000 pounds or 6,200 boxes of food that will help feed 2,000 families in our area.
The food was funded by CARES Act dollars from the county through a partnership with Living Hungry, the Salvation Army and others.
Decked out in Santa hats, volunteers from several Palm Beach County groups will come together to hand-deliver boxes of holiday meals to 300 families in need this Christmas.
“It’s a great feeling to be involved and have amazing owners that are focused on using their resources to support the surrounding communities with a holiday meal they would not have otherwise,” said Tricia Schmidt, senior property manager with Stiles Property Management, which is participating in the food distribution through the auspices of Living Hungry (livinghungry.org).
The holiday dinner boxes, to be delivered 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, are truly a team effort.
