The deputy head of Fatah, Mahmoud al-Aloul, said on Wednesday that excluding Jerusalem from the Palestinian parliamentary and presidential elections would be “a betrayal and a crime.”
Aloul stressed the need to deal with the elections in Jerusalem, like the rest of the Palestinian governorates, pointing out that the matter was agreed upon in previous meetings with the factions and the national and Islamic forces.
Aloul s statements came ahead of a meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and heads of Palestinian factions for a unified position on the elections.
Just at the beginning of this month, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani gave directives to provide a financial grant of $360 million to the residents of the Gaza Strip for the year 2021. The grant comes within the framework of the State of Qatar s continued support for the brotherly Palestinian people besieged in Gaza.
Now, the Chairman of Qatar s Gaza Reconstruction Committee Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi has highlighted that the country has pledged to provide $60 million to support a project that aims to provide the Gaza Strip with the gas necessary to solve the electricity crisis.
