A father-son duo has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of a social activist who had raised concerns about illegal sand mining on the banks of the Yamuna river. The incident occurred in Noida in 2013. The fast-track court convicted the duo and acquitted two other sons due to lack of evidence.
