KCR considering ‘tough men’ with academic and admin credentials for OU and KU
The exercise of appointing the Vice-Chancellors of Telangana universities will be taken up only after Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao meets Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, sources say.
Though the government has made a beginning in this regard, the exercise will gain momentum only after the meeting where the CM wishes to personally discuss a few issues. The government is considering a possible situation of the Governor returning the appointments file with objections and doesn’t want to land in such a predicament.
Dasoju Sravan flays KCR for not appointing V-Cs to universities
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is destroying the education system in the State deliberately by not appointing regular vice-chancellors to many universities, national spokesperson of AICC Dasoju Sravan has alleged.
Speaking at a round-table conference on “Delay in Appointment of Vice-Chancellors and Other Appointments” organised by OU Teaching Association (OUTA) in Osmania University on Monday, he sought to know why the government was not filling thousands of faculty and non-teaching posts, which were vacant in government colleges and universities.
This, Mr. Sravan said, was being done with an evil intention to destroy the State-run education institutions while promoting private colleges and universities. He requested Governor Tamilisai Soundarrajan to intervene in the matter and ask the Chief Minister to act immediately.

State Planning Board Vice-Chairman B. Vinod Kumar has favoured a consortium of universities recruitment board for filling up vacant posts as the individual recruitment was leading to delay due to legal hassles.
The Bihar government has created the Bihar State University Service Commission to conduct tests and select a teachers’ pool for all the universities for appointment based on their merit and interests, he said. The experiment should be studied, he felt, arguing that recruitments in varsities were being delayed mostly due to litigations.
