India News: Indian Army troops guarding the Line of Control fired at a Pakistani drone that intruded into Indian territory in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The drone managed to return to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after hovering briefly over some forward Indian posts in Mendhar and Krishna Ghati sectors. A search operation was conducted to ensure no airdropping of weapons or narcotics.
Officials said troops noticed two quadcopters entering the Balnoi area of Mendhar around 6.30 am and opened fire but the remotely controlled machines returned.
The Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police in a joint operation recovered a Pakistani drone with one packet of heroin weighing 519 grams from a farming field in Mode village in Punjab s Amritsar, an official statement by the BSF said. | Latest News India
In an attempt to deter the movement of drugs via Punjab, the BSF employed a three-pronged operation to either successfully strike down or recover enemy drones. Apart from intercepting the drones, authorities have also apprehended smugglers who took part in facilitating the smuggling of narcotics from Pakistan.
