PML-Q workers stage rally in support of Palestinians
The protesters demanded international community to take notice of Zionists’ aggression.

The activists and supporters of the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-i-Azam (PML-Q) took to the roads with a model of Al-Aqsa mosque to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people at Rawalpindi Press Club (RPC) on Murree Road On the call of PML-Q Chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
The protesters chanted slogans against Israel and demanded the international community to take notice of the Zionists’ aggression.
The rally was led by the party’s district leadership and Mishal Malik, wife of Kashmiri Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik. Palestinian students studying in Pakistan and their families also joined the rally. The demonstrators also set fire to the effigies of Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Zionist state’s flag.

In Pakistan, polo virtually means Lahore polo. The city’s polo scene has remained quite vibrant for the last many years. In fact, even when Pakistan had been going through the worst phase of terrorism and even while the world has been going through the Covid-19 pandemic, Lahore has come to be regarded as one of the busiest polo centres of the world.
Earlier it was only the Lahore Polo Club, whose history dates back to 1886, staging all the polo matches in the city. But a few years ago, the Jinnah Polo Club in DHA, with its excellent facilities, also sprang up.

A proposed bill criminalising “criticism” and “ridicule” of the Armed Forces has raised fears that it would further shrink the space for free speech and expression
“No one can ridicule the national ‘institutions’ any longer” Amjad Ali Khan, a member of National Assembly from the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) wrote on his Twitter timeline on September 15, after tabling a private bill in the National Assembly suggesting a prison sentence and fine for those who “ridicule” the armed forces of Pakistan.
The purpose of the “The Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill 2020” is “to prevent hatred and disrespectful behaviour against the Armed Forces. Strict action should be taken against those bringing disrepute to the Armed Forces institution in accordance with the law”.

PESHAWAR: The Awami National Party (ANP) Tuesday parted ways with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), a conglomerate of the opposition parties, in protest against a show-cause notice issued to it.
Addressing a hurriedly-called news conference at the party’s headquarters, Bacha Khan Markaz, ANP Senior Vice-President Ameer Haider Khan Hoti said the show-cause notice issued to the ANP by the PDM leadership had been an attempt to damage the party’s reputation and its internal organisational structure. “A show-cause notice is issued within a political party and only ANP Central President Asfandyar Wali Khan can issue show cause to any member or leader of the party for violating the party discipline,” he argued.
