Corruption and sex crimes are the two main evils confronting the Muslim world, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said, calling on the need to “save the Muslim youth from being inundated with obscenity and pornographic material available on the internet”.
The prime minister made these comments during an interactive dialogue on ‘Riyasat-i-Madina: Islam, Society and Ethical Revival’ with top Muslim scholars from the world on Sunday, which was organised by the recently set up National Rehmatul-lil-Aalameen Authority (NRAA).
An 11-year-old boy was killed and 18 were injured during a celebratory firing on New Year's Eve in Pakistan’s Karachi city, officials said.
The boy, Mohammed Raza, was hit by a stray bullet when he was standing outside his home in North Karachi, a police officer said.
He was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where he died during treatment, reported Dawn newspaper.
18 people, including one nine-year-old boy, who were injured by stray bullets were brought to the JPMC.
For the second time in a week, the Taliban and Pakistani forces clashed at the Durand Line border after the latter allegedly tried to extend the barbed wire fences into the Afghanistan territory.
According to local media reports, the clash took place on Thursday in Afghanistan’s southeastern Nimroz province at Charborjak district.
It is being reported that the Pakistani forces tried to extend the border fences 10 kilometres into the Afghanistan territory, prompting the Taliban personnel to tear down the barbed wires.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed regret for Pakistan’s participation in US-led 20-year-long “war on terror” in Afghanistan, saying that the country joined only for “dollars” and not in the “public intertest.”
While addressing the officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad, Khan said, “And so, I am well aware of what considerations there were behind the decision. Unfortunately, the people of Pakistan were not a consideration.”
