Four-piece tops
By GUY WILLIAMS
Wakatipu High School musicians have dominated the Central Otago regional finals of Smokefreerockquest 2021.
Four-piece girl band No Man’s Land won the band category for the second year in a row, while a trio of lads, Good Days, grabbed third place in the same category at the competition, which was held in Wanaka recently.
And that’s just for starters: Billie Comer won the solo-duo category and best lyrics award, while Arrowtown rockers Train Surfers made up of Ollie McLean, Dillon Bouchier and Cameron Kennedy-Brown won best song.
To top it off, Ted Coutts scooped the musicianship award.
