Iwi buys bigger share of coastal Rangitīkei farm

Rangitīkei iwi Ngā Wairiki-Ngāti Apa has bought a further one third share of the large Te Hou Farms near Bulls - for $8.64 million. The purchase was made final on December 1, and announced at the tribe s annual general meeting on December 6. The buyer is iwi-owned Ngā Wairiki – Ngāti Apa Developments Limited.

The Whanganui Chronicle brings back some of the best premium content of the year for your summer reading enjoyment. Whanganui s population has topped 48,000 and is trending towards 50,000 in the next few years, according to new population figures released by Statistics New Zealand this week.
The figures show that in the year ending June 30, the population of the Whanganui District increased from 47,300 residents to 48,100, a jump of 800, or 1.6 per cent over the past year.
