The man who transformed a cattle ranch west of Kamloops into a golf course resort is no longer involved in its day-to-day operation.
But Pagebrook president Mike Grenier said Friday his company remains a secured creditor in the receivership and has an interest in Tobiano s future.
A recent report by the court-ordered receiver noted Pagebrook has been in discussions with potential Asian investors who claim to be interested in the project.
But receiver Doug Chivers, with Vancouver-based Bowra Group, said no offers have been forthcoming for the resort on Kamloops Lake despite efforts to sell the project.
Tobiano was forced into receivership by the Bank of Montreal in June last year. Grenier was kept on in a management position by the receiver but that relationship ended in June.
B.C. Supreme Court has placed Tobiano Resort in receivership after it failed to keep current on debts totaling more than $27 million.
Bank of Montreal initiated legal action last month after making payment demands on developer Michael Grenier and his companies, including Kamlands Holdings Ltd. and Pagebrook Inc.
The court ordered a Vancouver receiver, Bowra Group, to take control of Grenier s companies on June 9.
Reached at his office at the resort Monday, Grenier confirmed he has lost control of the project that began in Kamloops 15 years ago with his vision for waterfront property he purchased 20 minutes west of the city.
