In Itaewon, over a dozen volunteers are walking a fine line between serving the community and paying respect to those who perished during the Halloween celebrations on Oct. 29. Volunteer work is typically something that commands praise. But following the tragic events that took the lives of 157 mostly young people, those who have been around to help maintain the makeshift memorial site set up at Itaewon Station sometimes face a situation where their good intentions are brought into question, with some even accusing them of committing acts of disrespect to the deceased.
