Paducah Police Bomb Squad seize explosives found in barn (WSIL) The Paducah Police Department’s Bomb Squad responded Sunday to a rural area of Christian County, where a man had found explosives in a barn. Officers said a man had acquired the property from his father and was cleaning out a barn when he found the explosives and blasting caps. The bomb squad removed the items from the barn and rendered them safe. “It’s not uncommon for people to find old explosive items when cleaning out family properties,” said Police Chief Brian Laird. “These items tend to become unstable with age, so the best thing to do is don’t touch them and call your local law enforcement agency.”
