Former county councillor, Paddy Fitzsimons has died at the age of 82.
The Navan publican and undertaker retired from public life in 2004 after 25 years as an urban and county councillor.
Mr. Fitzsimons was first elected for Fianna Fáil to the urban council in 1979 and to the county council in 1985.
He held the position of chair of the town council on five occasions and was elected Cathaoirleach of Meath County Council in 1991.
