T V Chandran, an eminent filmmaker, has been chosen as the 30th recipient of the J C Daniel Award for 2022, honouring his contributions to Malayalam cinema. The award, announced by the Kerala Government, includes a statuette, citation, and a purse worth Rs 5 lakh.
Chandran, known for his offbeat work in cinema, has won several awards and accolades over the years. ‘Ponthan Mada’, ‘Padam Onnu: Oru Vilapam’, and a trilogy circling the 2002 Gujarat riots are some of his known works.
