Victoria has entered a critical two-day period that will determine the scale of any Covid-19 spread in the state, after a positive case in the community on Tuesday.
The state recorded no new local cases today despite 84 people being deemed close contacts of a Melbourne man who tested positive after completing hotel quarantine in South Australia.
Acting Premier James Merlino said today that 67 people hadn t contracted the virus after coming into contact with the man.

Six people who quarantined on the same floor of a South Australian hotel as a Wollert man who later tested positive to COVID-19 have started a second 14-day stint of isolation in Victoria.
Victoria’s Health Department said the six individuals had stayed on level three of The Playford Hotel in Adelaide during a potential transmission period and were being tested for the virus.

Contact tracers have also located more primary close contacts of the Wollert man who tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday after returning to Melbourne on May 4.
