Hospitals in Fiji experiencing equipment shortage following the recent Covid-19 outbreak will be getting a much needed shot-in-the-arm from New Zealand this week. Two container loads of medical equipment will be shipped off to the island nation which just last month suffered a second outbreak of Covid cases in the community after having contained it successfully for almost a year. Harish Lodhia, Fiji’s honorary consul in Auckland, is co-ordinating the shipment of the two six-metre (20ft) containers, one of which will be carrying sanitisers only, a total 18,864 bottles, donated by an Auckland company.
