Flag raising ceremony this morning at the venetian Military Cemetery. The graves are mostly u. S. Military Service Members but there are a few for german and italian prisoners of war from world war ii. Its the oldest Military Cemetery in the western United States. I just respect all the veterans that went to war and died for our country, so i also really like this town and its services for veterans. Its both a somber event but also an event that i think elevates peoples patriotism and its a great opportunity to recognize the ultimate sacrifices made by those who died defending our country. There are 211 people. This evening there will be a special memorial day vigil held at the crosses of lafayette. The peace and Justice Centers are inviting the public to gather at 7 00 at the crosses on deer hill road. Organizers say the event is designed to give people an outlet to express sadness over the ongoing wars in the middle east. Theyre working to create a world where war is unacceptable. Wh
