Actor-politician Kamal Haasan, whose party Makkal Needhi Maiam failed to win a single seat in the just concluded Tamil Nadu polls, on Tuesday asked party members to mail him their thoughts amid murmurs of dissension in the ranks.
The MNM founder, who was defeated in Coimbatore (South) constituency, underscored that he can t change the party s objectives and aims according to the situation and alleged conspiracies.
The appeal comes just days after party s vice president R Mahendran quit alleging a lack of democracy in the organisation. Following Mr Mahendran, six others also sent in their resignations .

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) [India], April 5 (ANI): A day before Tamil Nadu is scheduled for polling, actor-turned-politician and Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan on Monday said he will give up his acting career if it will pose a hurdle in his political career.
Addressing media in Coimbatore, Hassan said he will finish the movies that he had already signed. Acting is my profession. I will continue to work in the cinema. But if it poses a hurdle for my political career, I will give it up. I will finish movies that I signed earlier and then think about taking new assignments, he said.

Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan s car was allegedly attacked by a man on Sunday night in Kancheepuram while he was returning to Chennai after an election campaign. However, the actor-turned-politician did not suffer any injury in the incident. The man was reportedly thrashed by MNM cadres and people, before being handed over to the police. Haasan was not injured in the incident though his vehicle s windscreen was damaged. The man who attempted to attack Haasan was handed over to the police, MNM leader A G Mourya said. MNM will be contesting 154 of 234 assembly seats. Of the remaining 80 seats, MNM s two alliance partners All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi (AISMK) led by R Sarathkumar and TR Paarivendhar s Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi (IJK) will contest 40 seats each.
