Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, has reacted to the attack on the residence of Sunday Adeyemi, popularly known as Sunday Igboho.
According to the group, the attack is a return to the late Sani Abacha era, noting that a “dark cloud is descending on Nigeria”.
Igboho’s house was attacked between 1 am and 2:30 am on Thursday by gunmen whom he claims are operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigerian army.
The Street Journal had earlier reported that two persons were killed in the attack while cars and other valuable items were destroyed.
The attack, according to Afenifere, confirmed that government security agencies have become emboldened in violating the rights of the citizens.
