And the first rookie minicamp practice Friday was another step as he tries to settle into his new role. “Today has been a better day just mentally, just because I can just play football and do football,” Wright said.
The New York Jets signed veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb on Wednesday, adding another of Aaron Rodgers' former Green Bay Packers teammates to the roster. The 32-year-old Cobb, who had two stints with Rodgers in Green Bay, adds depth to a suddenly crowded wide receiver room in New York.
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) The Baltimore Ravens signed cornerback Rock Ya-Sin on Wednesday, filling another important need in an offseason that has recently become a lot more productive. The Ravens announced their agreement with the free agent defensive back. Baltimore needed a cornerback because Marcus Peters is a free agent. The Ravens did draft a defensive back last week, but not until the fifth round when they selected Stanford cornerback Kyu Blu Kelly.

(AP) The absence of a contract extension for Kirk Cousins in Minnesota could well spell the end of his time as quarterback of the Vikings, who have won only one game in the NFL playoffs since their groundbreaking signing five years ago. Despite the depth of his desire to finish his career with Minnesota, Cousins would be about the last player in the league to feel defeated or slighted. Betting on himself, after all, has been the story of his entire football career.
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) The Los Angeles Rams signed quarterback Brett Rypien on Thursday. Rypien spent his first four NFL seasons with the Denver Broncos, passing for 778 yards with four touchdown passes and eight interceptions in eight appearances. He made two of his three career starts last season for Denver, which signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Boise State in 2019.
