We are learning that seven us troops were injured in a raid that killed 15 members of the islamic extremist group, i. S. I. S. That raid happening on thursday in iraq two of the seven were evacuated from the area for further medical treatment u. S. Central command says that the operation was targeting i. S. I. S. Leaders in order to disrupt the group s ability to plan for their attacks. Cnn s chief international security correspondent, nick paton walsh is joining me now. Live from london. So nick, what do we know about this operation? yeah alex, quite extraordinary development here. Essentially, because of the number of u. S troops injured in this instance, seven 75 of whom apparently during the operation to it seems from a fall separately related to that one of whom requiring followon care outside of theatre.
