P. Gopala Krishna, Managing Director of Sangam Milk Producers’ Company Limited (Sangam Dairy - Guntur), tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday night, and was said to be battling for life at the District Government Hospital here.
Mr. Gopala Krishna was brought from the custody of the ACB in Vijayawada to the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison on May 1. He had complained of breathing problem on Monday, but tested negative for the virus, the prison authorities said.
As be began showing symptoms of COVID-19 from Monday evening, he was rushed to the District Government Hospital.

P. Gopala Krishna, one of the three arrested in connection with the Sangam Dairy scandal, was brought to the central jail on May 1. The Sangam Milk Producers Company Limited (Sangam dairy-Guntur) Managing Director P. Gopala Krishna, 65, tested positive for COVID-19 on the night of May 3 and is now battling for life in the District Government Hospital (DGH) in Rajamahendravaram city in East Godavari district.
On May 1, Mr. Krishna was brought to the Rajamahendravaram Central Prison from the custody of the Vijayawada ACB. On May 3, he complained of breathing problem but tested negative for COVID-19 in the prison, according to the Central prison authorities.

GUNTUR: The Sangam Dairy Board is now in the eye of controversy after its Chairman and senior TDP leader Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar was arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) for alleged financial and administrative irregularities conducted while managing the Board on April 23rd.
The former Ponnur MLA Narendra, who is A1 in the Sangam Dairy financial irregularities case along with the Managing Director P Gopala Krishna and M Gurunadham former District Cooperative Officer were sent to remand for 14 days by the ACB Court and are currently lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail.
The State government issued an order on Tuesday cancelling the transfer of management of the Sangam Dairy to the Guntur District Milk Producers’ Cooperative Union Limited where the day-to-day activities would be monitored by the Sub Collector of Tenali Division, Guntur district.
