Two months after Montana leaders said they wouldn’t continue in a federal program to provide food assistance for kids during the COVID-19 pandemic, they changed course and announced Friday that they will be remaining in the program after all.
“This program has been a valuable resource for thousands of Montana families in helping to supplement their food budgets," the department director said.
North Carolina will continue to issue food assistance benefits for the state’s youngest children through this summer. The state has been granted an extension for the federal Child Care Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer program.
