子ども食堂に取り組む団体の支援に向け、業務用食品卸の（株）モリレイ（本社矢巾町、岡村弥代表取締役社長）と市、市社会福祉協議会（田面木茂樹会長）の３者は、連携協定を締結した。３者の役割分担を明確にしながら、協定をきっかけに市内での子ども食堂開設を推進していく。
北東北を営業拠点とする同社は、ＳＤＧｓ（持続可能な開発目標）の取り組みとして、各地で同食堂への食材提供を行っている。今回、市社福協との関わりから協力を打診。市社福協が食材の管理と食堂の支援事業を実施することになり、協定締結が決まった。
１９日、水沢南町の市総合福祉センターで協定締結式が行われ、小沢昌記市長や田面木会長、岡村社長らが出席。それぞれ協定書にサインした。
