DUBAI: Bahrain-based FA Holding has invested $200,000 in a plant-based kids’ food startup in the UAE.
Sprout was founded by biochemist Oz Erbas and marketing technologist Katerina Papatryfon and its products are made 100 percent from plants, using locally sourced and organic ingredients from around the UAE.
The company is also developing an artificial intelligence-powered app which will help parents to plan their children’s meals and monitor their nutritional intake.
Bahrain’s FA Holding has been investing in startups for more than a decade and its portfolio ranges from traditional logistics and real estate to technology startups such as restaurant booking platform Eat App, biotechnology stem cell seafood company Finless Foods, juice maker Perfectly Pressed, volunteering app one% and football gaming app Malaeb.
