Months of planning paid off for Pacifica High School students who organized booths alongside community organizations for a health fair on campus Thursday.
The students are part of the Oxnard school s health science academy, a program geared toward students who want to work in health, medicine or a related field.
Pacifica has held a health fair before in partnership with the nonprofit HealthCorps, according to Pacifica teacher Chloe Carson. The fair planned for last year was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent school closures.
This year, Carson, who is the health science academy director, reached out to Oxnard Union s HealthCorps Coordinator Samantha Cade-Mnisi in October to plan a health fair.
