STUDENTS at Bromsgrove School recently enjoyed an ‘Own Clothes Day’ this month in support of Sense, the national disability charity. The pupils raised more than £1,500 and have become passionate about the charity s work after building relationships with individuals at the Sense TouchBase Pears centre in Selly Oak. A buddy programme between the school and charity has seen students volunteer with accessible cycling in Sutton Park, bowling in Rubery, and art activities at Sense TouchBase Pears. Dr Dawn Rimmer, Master of Scholars at the School, has been volunteering with Sense for almost 20 years. Dawn has made a huge difference in raising deaf awareness among the pupils at the school.
