Thirty-four-year-old Oyemachi Maduabuchi, one of the inmates who escaped during a jailbreak at the Owerri Correctional Centre in Imo State, has been rearrested by the Lagos State Police Command.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Oyemachi was arrested after he allegedly stole a SIM and memory cards belonging to a member of the Bride Assembly Church in the Ijesha area of Lagos State.
It was learnt that Oyemachi’s sister, Amarachi, whom he had been living with in Lagos, took him to the church for special deliverance.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Tuesday that he allegedly stole the SIM and memory cards of the church member during a vigil, adding that the items were found in his possession after the service.

Barely two weeks after unknown gun men attacked Owerri Correctional Centre in Imo State and freed 1,884 inmates of the centre, the leadership of the centre has confirmed that about 125 of the inmates who escaped from the Custodial Centre, have voluntarily returned back to custody.
Recall that in the early hours of last Easter Monday unknown gun men in a commando likened action attacked the correctional centre facilities and freed all the inmates without any feared dead or injured.
Giving an update on the capture of the inmates over the weekend, the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCS, spokesperson, Francis Enobore, said some of the returnee inmates were brought back by their parents and family members, after their data and picture had been published, which compelled them to return to the correction
