The agreement – signed shortly after International Women’s Day – was signed by Professor Colin Bailey, Queen Mary’s President and Principal, and Daniel Valdez-Delgadillo, Principal of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC).
The Dual MRes in Science and Engineering will be hosted by the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences and supported by other schools in the faculty. The first cohort of students will start in September 2021, undertaking taught modules for a year at UABC before joining Queen Mary for the second year of their masters.
The signing ceremony, well attended by staff from both institutions, started with a welcome and introduction of the academics from UABC and Queen Mary. Fish had the genes to adapt to life on land while they were still swimming the seas

Almost 700 years ago, Jacob van Maerlant, a Dutch poet, envisioned a fish all set for life on land: It had sprouted arms to hoist itself ashore. Now, three genetic studies make his fantasy look remarkably prescient. Together, the studies suggest that in terms of genes, the aquatic precursors of four-limbed land animals, or tetrapods, were as well-prepared as the Dutch fantasy fish. They were pre-equipped with genes that could be turned to making limbs, efficient air-breathing lungs, and nervous systems tuned to the challenges of life on land.

the defendant wen wang, threatened and harassed a foreign official. president hu was given a public speech and members of the white house. miss wang began to yell at president hu in a loud voice in two-minutes. she was standing at the press platform across from president hu. the words that miss wang yelled had been translated and it goes on and on. charges not just disorderly conduct but attempted to intimidate a foreign official while he was acting in his official capacity. serious charges brought against this woman who was arrested at the white house that day. she went on and on and yelling for three minutes. they got her out of there.
