Syracuse ended the regular season at No. 10 in Inside Lacrosse’s weekly rankings, which were released Monday morning. That’s the second-lowest spot the Orange (7-5, 2-4 Atlantic Coast) have placed this season, just ahead of No. 11 in week 10. Every other ACC school was ranked in the top five.
SU will head into the NCAA Tournament with a double-digit ranking for the third straight time. The Orange exited the tournament during the first round in both 2018 and 2019.

Syracuse entered its matchup against Robert Morris with its postseason hopes on the line. With no Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament, the Orange came out for one last game before the NCAA Tournament. A win wouldn’t be much of a resume-booster, but a loss to the unranked Colonials could’ve been damning to an Orange team teetering on the bubble.

After Brett Kennedy fired a shot that nearly found the net for a rare long-pole goal in the opening quarter, SU regained possession and regathered. Peter Dearth collected the ball near the top of the box and saw Owen Seebold at X. The attack darted, beginning his run toward the front of the cage, and Dearth launched the skip pass.
Seebold collected it at the crease in behind the two Robert Morris defenders and slotted one past the goalie from point-blank range. He grinned as his goal-song rang through the Carrier Dome, the score marking the fifth that the Orange notched during a nine-goal first quarter.
