Published April 29, 2021 1:58pm The daily attack rate of COVID-19 in the country remains at high risk level with 19 to 55 new COVID-19 per 100,000 population, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Thursday. Roque made the announcement a day after President Rodrigo Duterte extended the implementation of modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) protocol in Metro Manila and nearby provinces until May 14. MECQ prohibits non-essential trips and allows non-essential businesses and services to operate partially. “[The number of] national and NCR COVID-19 cases is decreasing, but the average daily attack rate remains above high risk threshold,” Roque said during the Palace briefing.
