Hillsboro Businesses Raise Funds For CASA Businesses in downtown Hillsboro partnered to raise money for CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) of Hill County during National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Businesses placed donation boxes near their registers to collect donations and offered 10 percent discounts to anyone donating $10 or more to CASA. Businesses participating included A Little Taste of Heaven, Finished Seams Boutique, Glitz and Glamour, Hillsboro Mercantile, Juice Light, Lemon Blush Boutique, Little Bear s Clubhouse, Makley Rehab + Co, Natalie’s Floral & Gifts, Overflow Coffee Co., Quackers Cafe & Creamery, Roadside America, Ruby & Pearl, Texas Through Time, The Boot Spot & Boutique, The Goodie Mill and Wranglers Cafe & Entertainment.

First Round Of Business Grants Awarded Four Hillsboro businesses recently received funds from the Hillsboro Small Business Support Grant Program. The grants were funded by the First Presbyterian Church of Hillsboro in an effort to support local businesses and help them survive the economic downturn due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Hillsboro Area Chamber of Commerce Board Chair Ada Motherspau and members of the Mission Outreach Member Care Committee of First Presbyterian Church Peggy McFerrin, Norma Kidwell and Evelyn Spencer dispersed grant awards to small businesses in the Hillsboro Main Street District. The initial recipients were Overflow Coffee Co., Little Bear’s Clubhouse, Natalie’s Floral and Gifts and Two Sisters Antiques.
